Image result for david beckham mens health

IMAGE: one main feature of the front cover is the image of David Beckham, the reason this is a key feature is because he will draw a lot of attention to the magazine because he is well known from his football days and is a role model to people which will make people buy the magazine. The main image takes up around half of the page and is a medium shot from an angle. This use of positioning and camerawork give David Beckham a high status. The target audience for this magazine would be 16-45 year old males who want to get fit or improve there health and by using a well known famous athlete on the main cover would provide motivation and inspiration.

TITLE: A part of the title is covered by David Beckham, this shows that the magazine is already well known to people because the editors and designers don't have to show the full title, this also shows that they want full attention on the main image rather than the title. The title is written in quite a simple form which would be to keep the front cover neat and presentable, also because this magazine is about health and fitness it would be taken seriously so keeping it simple and neat matches that. The title is also quite a basic colour which again looks neat and simple.

COVERLINES: on the front page of this magazine there are 6 coversine's and they all relate to health/fitness, the body and style. These coversine's will interest its audience because they all link to the main title because the coversine's relate to 'men's health' which is the title name. the coversine's inform the audience of what to expect from the magazine.
TAGLINE: on this issue of men's health there is no slogan/tagline, whereas on previous they have featured a tagline which says "every issue promises perfects abs" this tagline along with some of the content is aspirational, inspiring and motivational but is very unrealistic. some issues may not contain the tagline because they expect there target audience to already be aware of there tagline of what to expect in their issues. compared to other magazines this is serious because it concerns health and making you a better person so maybe not always having a catchy tagline shows the seriousness of the magazine, whereas music magazine which relate to pop or RnB and gossip magazines will have a catchy tagline because they want to excite there audience and draw attention through it.
MAIN COVERLINE: On this magazine cover there are many coversine's but two of them stand out to the audience because the font is bigger and they are bold. They are positioned next to each other, to the left of the main image and underneath the title. they are both in the standard, simple colour of black which again relates to seriousness of this magazine because other magazines would use funky writing with bright colours.
LANGUAGE: The language is formal within the coversine's it gets straight to the point with telling the audience with what the magazine will feature, they use basic words that link to health and your body which relates to title so the magazine is sticking to its moral of health. They use words such as 'muscle' which would grab attention from the audience because having muscles and looking good is pretty much everyone's aspirations. The way its written and how they used language is not really emotive, they have kept it simple and easy to read for the audience.
