Evaluation of magazine cover

The name of my magazine is called “4-formation” I called it this because it links to football and that is what my magazine is about, and the target audience would be able to identify this as a football magazine. My magazine targets mostly teenagers (particularly male) who are in to football.

The title of my magazine is positioned at the top of my magazine and is placed in the centre of the page. The title doesn’t really take up a lot of space. The font of the title is bold and big which will stand out to the target audience and draw their attention. The colour of the title corresponds with the main image as they feature the same colour’s think this makes the cover look neater and organised rather than having a big variety of colours and the colour scheme specifically matches this magazine genre.

My magazine cover features three cover lines and one main cover line. The three cover lines are positioned around the main image with the little picture which relate to that article and the main cover line is positioned at the bottom of the main image. For the cover lines I have varied the size of the fonts because the cover lines have a smaller font whereas the main cover line has a bigger font to indicate that this is the main topic inside the magazine. The main cover line has a red filled box and the reason for this is so it stands out on the baby blue of the image and it also corresponds with one of the little images which are scattered around the side. The three other cover lines have a baby blue coloured filled box and this corresponds to the main image.

My magazine cover features three images and one main image. The main image is in the centre of the page and takes up most space. The other three images are much smaller and positioned either side of the main image. All of these images are accompanied by their cover lines.

To complete my magazine cover I have added the little things that some people don’t really take a lot of notice of or don’t really care about, but without these little things a cover wouldn’t be the same. I have added a date, price, issue number and barcode. The barcode is positioned on the bottom right hand corner of the page not really using up a lot of space because it’s not as significant. The date, issue number and price are all positioned above the title in really small white font, and this just gives the audience any addition information but not anything that’s really important to them which is why its not eye catching or bold.
